The food was absolutely delicious. You can really tell how much care and attention goes into every dish. Even the mango lassi was freshly made, and it was beautifully finished with latte art, which was a lovely surprise.nIt’s such a pity that this restaurant isn’t located in Auckland, otherwise we would definitely come here regularly. I truly envy the locals who get to enjoy this place so often.
We were treated very well, the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The prices are very good, it’s not expensive at all. The place is spotless and very clean—you can see everything, the kitchen, the bathroom, everything looks impeccable. The food was excellent, very tasty and full of flavor. Overall, a great experience with amazing service and delicious food. Highly recommended.
Some of the best Indian food I have ever had! Also beautiful setting and great service! I especially enjoyed the samosas, chicken tikka, butter chicken, and mango lassi.
Indian Tadka is a real gem and a great reminder not to judge a restaurant by its exterior. It has an understated, no-frills feel that fits perfectly with a small New Zealand country town, but the food delivers genuinely authentic Indian flavours that far exceed expectations.nnEverything tasted fresh, well balanced and thoughtfully prepared, with a menu that clearly respects traditional Indian cooking.nnThe service was particularly impressive. With a single person running the floor, taking orders and managing service, it was efficient without ever feeling rushed. The atmosphere was friendly, relaxed and very welcoming, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the meal.nnTiming was spot on — quick enough to keep things moving, but never at the expense of comfort or experience.nnPortion sizes were generous, pricing was very reasonable, and every dish ordered across our table was distinct, flavourful and satisfying. It was busy for both dine-in and takeaway, even on a Tuesday night, which says a lot.nnWhether you’re passing through Matamata or live locally, this place is absolutely worth a visit — and I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.
