The staff were wonderful and well accomodating, they were great in answering my questions well going around the hall. They seemed genuinely interested in me as a person and are just seem like such lovely people. I’m definitely looking forward to getting to know them better when I start my first year at uni.
Lived here for my first semester in 2025, coming the end now, loved every minute. The staff are so helpful. Great community vibes and really fantastic facilities. Definitely recommend for any international students.
Kia ora! International student here. Part of my successful adjustment in New Zealand is the wonderful accommodation I have in Ilam. I live in Manuka and its the cheapest one but very worth it. And they have activities lined up for every sem, that's big plus. And the reception staff here are very helpful and welcoming. Shoutout to Diego, who always accommodates my little requests and tries to assist me in everything. And to all the staff, Kudos!
Lovely, friendly, inclusive environment. The staff are amazing especially the Community Managers and Taurima. The flats are clean and the bedrooms get good lighting. Would recommend
I’ve had a positive experience staying at Ilam, Manuka. Flatmates can be hit or miss—it really depends. Weekend parties can be challenging if you’re trying to study, and the construction noise in the mornings can be quite disruptive. But you can’t have everything in one place, right?nnThat being said, one of the best aspects of my stay has been the front desk customer service. The representatives are incredibly polite, friendly, and helpful. A special thanks to Diego, Julian, and Debraj for making my stay truly memorable!
