I come to the Ilam apartments a lot to visit my sister. They’re pretty nice on the inside however, they have a pigeon problem! One of my sister’s friends has had bird mites from the amount of pigeons she had nesting next to ledge of bedroom. Ilam apartments is aware of this issue but proceed to not do anything about it. It’s disappointing to see no actions taken by ilam apartments when residents health are at risk.
I’ve had a positive experience staying at Ilam, Manuka. Flatmates can be hit or miss—it really depends. Weekend parties can be challenging if you’re trying to study, and the construction noise in the mornings can be quite disruptive. But you can’t have everything in one place, right?nnThat being said, one of the best aspects of my stay has been the front desk customer service. The representatives are incredibly polite, friendly, and helpful. A special thanks to Diego, Julian, and Debraj for making my stay truly memorable!
Living at Unilodge Ilam has been a great experience. I really appreciate the flat design, as it allows me to enjoy meals and social time at Tupuānuku while still having my own space back at the flat. Having fewer people to share a bathroom with and the ability to cook my own meals whenever I want is a huge plus. There’s also enough room to have friends over for gatherings. My RA has been supportive and helpful, and the security team is always friendly and approachable, which makes me feel safe. Overall, it’s been the perfect setup for balancing personal time, social life, and study.
The only positive side of the Ilam apartment is that it is super close to the university. Very poor management. The manager is a very rude person and kind of racist. Most of the RA's don't do their job well. I have to stress on the fact that the manager is not at all student-friendly. Before and after exam parties are the worst. People drink and make a mess in the flat, not considering other people who don't drink, break beer bottles at random places in the common areas, and make loud noises in the middle of the night, not considering other people's sleep, to which the management doesn't seem to care about the issue. I personally felt they were running a refugee camp instead of student accommodation. I wouldn't give even a one-star rating, but unfortunately Google doesn't allow me.
Living at Unilodge Ilam has been great. The apartments are modern and comfy, and it’s easy to make friends in the common areas. The high-speed internet and on-site laundry are super convenient. Plus, it’s close to both public transport and the Uni. Overall, it’s been a solid spot for focusing on my studies and enjoying student life. Too many pigeons tho
