Story

Hutton & Cameron Contractors was established in 1985 as a Civil Contracting Company. Our telecommunications division was integrated into the company in 1995. The business was purchased in November 2000 by Peter & Robyn Donovan and has operated since then as Donovan Enterprises Ltd, trading as Hutton & Cameron. The company has grown immensely with telecommunications becoming the major part of our business. We have operated depots in both Hawkes Bay and Auckland to enable us to complete large sized UFB projects in both these locations and travelled staff, fleet, machinery & plant all around both North and South islands to complete short term projects.

The industry has seen a period of vast development in the telecommunications sector and Hutton & Cameron have expanded to satisfy both the increasing demands and diverse nature of this type of work and have established themselves as a leader within this field.

We are a Level 3 (High Risk) approved contractor for the Whangarei District Council and are also SiteWise certified..

The Company recognises the importance of technical expertise and has included within its team of 20, the personnel capable of successfully completing all projects assigned to them with total professionalism. This team is headed by a dedicated management team which is supported by an experienced office administrator.

The Hutton & Cameron team has extensive experience in cable installation projects for major Telecommunication Companies and their principals throughout the North Island of New Zealand, including Telecom, Telstra Clear, FX Networks and United Group. We are currently also working on Fibre house connections within the Whangarei district for Northpower Fibre and carry out other fault work for them also. Our experience also includes earthworks, scour protection and maintenance works, house sites and subdivision works.
Given the direction and emphasis of the industry Hutton & Cameron have identified the need to expand and invest in the continued growth of our company. Because we place high importance on delivering safe and quality service while also meeting deadlines given, we need to ensure that while growing the size of our workforce we select only those capable of achieving the skill set required to compliment our ever expanding team.
