The Hutt Mana Charitable Trust supports great community groups and projects in the Hutt Valley, Porirua City and Wellington North.
Twice a year we have a grants round to distribute earnings returned on circa $35 million of community assets.
The Trust supports projects related to energy efficiency as well general charitable purposes on an approximately equal basis.
The Trust fund was received from the former Hutt Mana Energy Trust and has a value of some $36 million. Income from this fund is used to fund its charitable work.
While in legal terms it is a “private trust” with accountability to the community through its Annual Meeting, Trustees recognise the benefits on an ongoing and constructive relationship with the community.
