Hurleyville School is a fantastic little rural school from South Taranaki. Nestled on the edge of Patea and surrounded by gorgeous farm lands.
Hurleyville School is a sole charge State Contributing Primary School with a roll between 10 to 20.
The school was opened on 15 August 1892 with 23 pupils. 1966 was the last year as a full primary school and September 1979 it became a sole charge school.
The staff and parents of Hurleyville School aim to make the school a happy place where the children will want to come to learn. Staff and students experience enjoyment and satisfaction in working and playing in a co-operative family atmosphere in both the classroom and playground.
The school prides itself on the facilities and resources that it makes available for the students of the school. Inside the classroom we have 6 computers, and a smart board. We also have a library and art intensive room where the children have weekly Arts lessons on a Thursday afternoon. We have a spacious and fun recently upgraded playground and heated swimming pool.
Hurleyville is situated 10 km inland from State Highway 3, 30 km south of Hawera and 18 km north of Patea. The area is predominantly involved in dairying and sheep and beef farming.
Amazing Students turn into life long learners.
