The place is fantastic, so bright and colourful. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Some of the floors and stairs are disorientating but there's plenty of hand rails. There's a shop and a truly delicious restaurant
This house, designed by Hundertwasser, follows the roule to avoid straight lines. It's amazing to see how a house is built without any straight lines or any straight walls. It takes about one hour to visit the house and the roof top garden including the watch tower. There you have a nice view over Whangarei and the port.
Amazing art experience. If you can do talk with the guides their knowledge is amazing. Tess was exceptional. She showed us things we wouldn’t have noticed adding to the experience. The art is beautiful, the story of the artist really interesting and the architecture outstanding. We finished off with snacks and cocktails in their beautiful restaurant. Well worth a visit.
My favorite building in New Zealand! I've visited multiple times, and each visit brings new discoveries. Mr. Hundertwasser's art offers a profound sense of peace—just being here feels like a cure for all troubles. It's a place where we can reconnect with our inner child, surrounded by vibrant colors and whimsical designs. Such a magical dreamland. Thanks lovely people working here especially roof top nice lady helped us taken great family pictures. Truly an unforgettable experience.
The building and surrounding paths are spectacular. You can't miss the golden dome on the roof. I didn't buy a ticket to go into the Art Centre, just browsed the gift shop.nThere was an impressive range of art cards for sale, calendars, and giftware with images from the collection.
