Howick Playcentre is a parent-led early childhood education service situated in Howick, Auckland catering for children from birth to school age.
Howick Playcentre is a family co-operative with a holistic approach to early childhood education. Child initiated play and parents as first educators are of paramount importance. Our centre prides itself on being a welcoming, friendly, culturally diverse centre. We provide a safe, nurturing and creative environment for children and whanau, and are committed to biculturalism. This means that our children’s education is at the heart of our centre community.
Howick Playcentre is a well resourced early childhood centre for children aged 0-6 with a wide range of activities for your children to enjoy. Our sessions are planned, managed and run by the parents who attend them. This means we are able to tailor our learning and play experiences using expert knowledge of our own children. We are a self-licensing centre and all parents take part in a free training program so that we are able to provide quality sessions for all our children.
Hours of operation:
General sessions (birth to school-age)
Monday - Thursday 9.00am to 12.00pm
Big Kid's Session (ages 3.5y to school-age)

Big Kids:
This is an extended session specifically for our children over three with an emphasis on learning co-operatively alongside other children, developing self-management and problem solving skills, and taking part in increasingly challenging activities - all in a fun, play based child-initiated context.
As a Playcentre parent you will benefit from a community experience, taking an active role in your children's early years and building friendships that will last a lifetime.
