Exceeded expectations. Pork belly bites entree were really yummy! Tender and a but of crunch. Loved my eye fillet, wasn't given a steak knife, but I actually didn't need it. Really yummy sides with it. Hubby liked his ribs, fell off the bone. Heaps of wedges, he couldn't finish it all.nReally enjoyed my lemon lime bitters.nFantastic service, 2 really friendly women.nPrices are reasonable even at full price. Will definitely be back.
Stayed 2 nights.. Rooms were rather dated, main door was hard to open and close, fridge was noisy and froze some of our stuff in there and my bad for just assuming there would be a toaster in the room to make our toast in the morning.nGood location and nice staff but the pool was dirty and my son wouldn’t use it again as he said there was a bad smell down one end like something had died!nUnfortunately on the Saturday we were relaxing in our room after lunch before we had to leave for a party at 2pm and there were tradespeople banging and talking and using power tools in the ceiling space and it was really loud! Then when we were leaving we had to step over an extension cord outside our door and there was work gear and ladders throughout the hallway.nSo overall it was quite a letdown for the price.
The Hotel was basic but did the job. The staff were extremely friendly. The food at their restaurant was very good & substantial we all left very full. Due to poor weather from the West we needed to leave Wanaka central & head back to the East Coast, so Ashburton was a logical stay-over / resting point we have 2 young childre, about 4 hrs drive from Wanaka.
Was quite relaxing with good sized room and hotel meals was great also. Staff were very friendly and informative which makes for a great experience all around. Would come and stay again if needed to
Showers are a bit weak. Everything in one place and very quiet rooms. Town is a bit of a walk but the quietness is worth it.
