Story

Hospice Mid Canterbury Trust is a registered Charitable Trust and an Associate Member of Hospice New Zealand.

The Trust’s objective is to enhance the quality of life for all those in the Mid Canterbury district dealing with life-limiting illness and bereavement.

Hospice Mid Canterbury will not provide clinical care, but will complement existing services by providing social support in the community.
Many people believe hospice is just a building, when in fact it is a philosophy of care.

That philosophy extends beyond the physical needs of a person to their emotional, social and spiritual needs, and those of their family, as they live with a life limiting condition.

Anyone living with a life limiting condition - e.g. heart failure, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis, or cancer - can access and benefit from hospice services.

The goal is to help people make the most of their lives; to live every moment in whatever way is important
to them.
