Story

Hope railway station was a rural railway station serving the small town of Hope in the Tasman district of New Zealand’s South Island. Hope is located on State Highway 6 between the larger towns of Richmond, to the north, and Brightwater, to the south. It was one of 25 stations on the Nelson Section, and existed from 1876 to 1955.
Facilities at this station included a small wooden passenger shelter, goods shed and siding.

A lovely little station with a self-service ticket machine. Very conveniently located for many local walks- I particularly recommend a trip up to Win Hill which is a great way of getting a quick but beautiful panorama of the Ladybower Reservoir and the surrounding High Peak area.
Small local train station right next to walking trails. Very 'middle of nowhere' feel which was the purpose of my visit, but if you thought of going for the thriving nightlife, it's not the stop for you. As usual, unmanned with no facilities, but clean enough and trains running about hourly.

A two platform railway station on the Hope Valley line. Regular trains to Sheffield and Manchester and the intermediate stations. Small car park. Short walk to the bus stop with buses to Castleton, Hathersage and Sheffield.
