Hooked on Marahou
"Hooked is a waterfront café, beer garden and restaurant located in Marahau; the gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park. Hooked was opened in 2002 by the Alborn family. Zoe Alborn has managed Hooked since its opening day and remains just as obsessed as she has ever been to delivering a wonderful dining experience for every visitor. The interior of Hooked has two beach house style dining rooms, both of which are adorned with an impressive collection of seashells, driftwood, crayfish pots and other vintage nautical objects. Even after multiple visits to Hooked, visitors find plenty of interesting pieces still felt to discover."

Love this place. Had to make the trip to stop here for lunch. Shared the beauty of this quaint restaurant with the family and not disappointed. Food was as perfect as it was 2 years ago on my last visit. Good variety. Vegetarian options. Good coffee. Located near water activities so perfect for after hike or kayak. Wheelchair access and great ablutions facilities. Retail shop next door for anything extra needed. Vegetarian options: Buddah bowl is awesome. Vege burger best I have had.
Absolutely fabulous. The live music, service and food were fantastic. You have to book, there were lots of disappointed people.
Beautiful view from the Cafe. Both inside & outside sitting arrangements available. Clean toilets Lovely staff Food is 5/5
Such a lovely restaurant with an amazing view and good vegetarian options! Love it here. The coffee is insane
The staff was so kind and got to know you like extended family. They are very attentive. Very cute decor and the food was absolutely fantastic! I had the pork ribs and chips and the pork just slipped off the bones. My boyfriend got the same and melted in his seat. Thank you for making our dinner after a long hike so much more satisfying! Parking: More parking behind the building
Fantastic food, perfect menu and the salads in the Budda bowl and fish and chips were so fresh. Loved the charred bread with garlic butter too. 5 stars for the food and the friendly service, the wine recommendations were perfect too and the beers perfectly chilled. Perfect end to a day spent in the Abel Tasman national park. Make sure you book so you don’t miss out and get there for happy hour. Thanks to the delightful Melissa:
Happy hour from 4-6pm. We had the small plate sampler which was a generous amount of food for two. They gave us bread instead of ceviche, but we ended up with the bread on the house which was very generous! The fresh baked bread was delicious, I’m glad we got to try it. Everything on the platter was tasty and would happily order again. Staff are attentive and friendly. Highly recommend. Last table for dining is seated at 6:30pm. So go in time for happy hour
We had a wonderful lunch here on Thursday. Service was genuine and engaging. Sunny and sheltered outside dining area with comfy cushions. The Fijian raw fish dish was particularly yummy.Food: 5/5
Best ribs I've ever eaten in my whole life! They were so tender that they were just falling from the bone, and the mix of BBQ sauce and spices were perfection itself! And then the GREAT selection of 80's background music..... ideal!Food: 5/5
We loved this spot! After reading all the great reviews we whipped over from Kaiteriteri for an early dinner. The pork ribs were 20/10 good and MASSIVE and the mussels were tasty and light. Service was lovely and atmosphere was beautiful and very relaxing. We will definitely be back before we leave!Food: 5/5
