Hooked on Marahau

About

Hooked is a waterfront cafe with a sun-drenched beer garden, and stunning ocean views. We are at the gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park, NZ.

"Hooked is a waterfront café, beer garden and restaurant located in Marahau; the gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park. Hooked was opened in 2002 by the Alborn family. Zoe Alborn has managed Hooked since its opening day and remains just as obsessed as she has ever been to delivering a wonderful dining experience for every visitor. The interior of Hooked has two beach house style dining rooms, both of which are adorned with an impressive collection of seashells, driftwood, crayfish pots and other vintage nautical objects. Even after multiple visits to Hooked, visitors find plenty of interesting pieces still felt to discover."

Absolutely fabulous. The live music, service and food were fantastic. You have to book, there were lots of disappointed people.
Such a lovely restaurant with an amazing view and good vegetarian options! Love it here. The coffee is insane
Happy hour from 4-6pm. We had the small plate sampler which was a generous amount of food for two. They gave us bread instead of ceviche, but we ended up with the bread on the house which was very generous! The fresh baked bread was delicious, I’m glad we got to try it. Everything on the platter was tasty and would happily order again. Staff are attentive and friendly. Highly recommend. Last table for dining is seated at 6:30pm. So go in time for happy hour
We had a wonderful lunch here on Thursday. Service was genuine and engaging. Sunny and sheltered outside dining area with comfy cushions. The Fijian raw fish dish was particularly yummy.Food: 5/5
Best ribs I've ever eaten in my whole life! They were so tender that they were just falling from the bone, and the mix of BBQ sauce and spices were perfection itself! And then the GREAT selection of 80's background music..... ideal!Food: 5/5
love the food here! my favorite is Kokoda raw fish with coconut milk; book in advance as many tourists dine in the place!
We had a perfect evening. Every meal was outstanding and made with so much love. The chef Rigieta did come out for a short chat yet. It was so good to meet all of the staff. Thanks from Germany
Such a wonderful place. Went here for some late lunch, foods delicious. Try the crispy chicken, won't regret it! Staff were very friendly and super lovely. Full stars!
Great Budda bowl with tofu tofu was well seasoned which is appreciated for us vegetarians!. The service was the best part - we had Melissa taking care of us and she was so kind and wonderful!Food: 5/5
A really chilled vibe but with great food and a good selection of drinks. The outdoor seating area has something for everyone, sea views out the front and a pub garden feel at the back. Be sure to get a Sprig&Fern at happy hour. The food was much better than expected from a place in a small town with a captive audience from the campsite. Staff we professional and efficient. We went twice, once for a late light lunch and the other for a big evening meal after a three day trip round Abel Tasman. My only criticism is that the puddings are a bit style over substance, beautifully presented but not a lot for the amount you pay. I preferred the berry brownie I got during our first visit that was only $3.50 to the mango meringue dessert which was $15.00, only one scoop of sorbet and one small piece of pouched meringue. Stick to the main course, the steak was fantastic!
