Husband & wife operation. Simple home cooked food and not heavy on salt not MSG. Traditional hot pot cooking with your own choice of toppings & soup base. You can order traditional Hong Kong dishes if you like. Light color surroundings with paintings. Self service on water & condiments. Clean tables, chair & floor. Toilet is tidy and clean.
I think this is an authentic claypot rice in Auckland so far. Food taste good. However, the menu is slightly expensive.

Visited last Monday for dinner, ordered stir fried beef fried rice it was which was okay for the price. Zero level of customer service, no water served, not at all welcoming, the restaurant was not having any background music, restaurant was empty that’s the main reason to go there to support the local but never going back.
There was good size portions. 1x appetizer 3 x mains to cokes. Just over $85 Dinning area look to be clean. What put us off was the amount of flys, if they are in dinning area what is the kitchen area like, where food is prepared. Volcanic soil around MtAlbert Is well known for flys,so don't leave the front door open. On hot Feb evening.
A simple hot pot restaurant offering either an individual hot pot as per picture or pick & match from a variety soup & toppings by ticking from a prepared order form. A clean & bright atmosphere setup. Food is individually prepared by chef & served by his partner. I had spicy noodle pork trotter soup picture in menu. It had a thin layer of chili oil & dried chili cuttings with a surprising 2 servings of small deep fried pork trotter legs. Soup wasn't spicy nor salty biy kind of home made soup. Toppings was a bit little but was generous with noodles. Another choice soup broth is beef soup. Free water refill & self service condiments. Clean & neat toilet.
Food was okay. But not the kind of attitude of customer service I'd expect from any restaurant. The lady was showing very little patient and a long face through and through, guess us and the two other diners had ruined her vacation on a quiet evening.
This restaurant is terrible. Food here has got some serious hygiene problem. We stopped by to have a taste and we found hair in the rice noodle. I will never come back to this place again. If you can not get the hygiene right why open a restaurant.
The restaurant is not very hygienic, lots of flies around tables. Bathroom was also ran out of soap. Food is average.
