David and Victoria have made the Hone Heke Lodge into a one of a kind, New Zealand gem. As hosts they were incredibly kind, welcoming, and generous, from the popsicle on arrival to the sewing kit Victoria lent me to repair my coat. Their personal touch is what makes the Lodge so great. The rooms were comfortable and the facilities are in great condition. A common area with a pool table made for a great place to hang out and relax with other TA walkers as I passed through Kerikeri. This is one of the absolute best places I stayed in New Zealand, and I think that should mean something since I've been the length of the whole country!
David and Victoria are lovely and very helpful. I spent almost a week in their lodge and I can say that everything was perfect : lovely people, comfortable bed and spacious room, spotless bathroom, nice dining area, big kitchen…. It is definitely one of the best lodge you can find in New Zealand !
Wonderful place to spend a couple nights. Cheap accommodation $30pp private bunk room, great amenities and the owners are really pleasant and helpful. Definitely a great place to rest your head, cook a decent meal, clean all your stuff incl yourself. The cat’s name is Ginger!
Stayed here on the TA walk. Absolutely wonderful hosts, private room and bathroom at a fantastic price and excellent outdoor space/facilities. Recommended for any hikers that need a day off in Kerikeri!
What a brilliant place! Dave and Victoria run this hostel perfectly. It was a welcomed break for me walking the TA trail and I would highly recommend this place to anyone else.
