Story

Auckland Home Based Childcare and Education

We are a licensed, government-funded childcare provider helping parents access affordable, quality childcare and supporting educators in providing this. Our educators can care for up to four children under 5 years at one time, with up to two children under 2 years. This includes their own children. In order to provide children with quality education, our educators follow Te Whariki, the New Zealand early childhood curriculum and are required to plan for and document each child’s learning and development. They must also keep a daily diary for each child, documenting their day including aspects of care such as food and sleeps.
Because we believe that early childhood education and care sets a foundation for future learning and development, we realize the importance of providing a quality service. Therefore we believe the most important role of management is to support educators to reach their full potential and meet the requirements of parents. We achieve this by providing training and advice from our fully qualified program coordinator, who visits each child in the place of care at least once a month and is available for contact and support 24/7. Support is given with such things as planning as well as an opportunity to discuss any issues that may arise.
In addition, we provide educators with access to resources and services such as a toy library and professional development opportunities. We also encourage our educators to take advantage of resources available in the community, such as libraries, Play centre and community events.
Educators are either self-employed or employed by the parent depending on the type of educator they are. Home2Grow Ltd does not employ educators directly however we do offer contracts/paperwork and support for parents taking on the employment.
