Had a great time! The bands were well worth the croaky throat in the morning!
Fantastic day out at the 2020 festival! Very well organised, great array of everything on offer from food to entertainment. It is such a fun day out. We will go again next year. Thanks to everyone involved, well done!
First and last time I ever went to this event. Deeply disappointed. I needed a microscope to find “wild food”. Huhu grub for 5 dollars a piece. Absolutely tasteless. The only other food I found was the white bait which you can find anywhere anytime. There was no outlets selling real wild food like venison wild pig goat etc. This thing was anything but wild food festival. Two outlets selling alcohol. Security around this two places made me feel like some criminal comitimg a crime after I saw the police and security presence. What on earth? So once again. Very very dissatisfied. Never ever again.
They are charging $45 for what is essentially access to 40 food trucks that offer expensive common foods such as burgers, ice cream and doughnuts. The main strip of shops does a better job of showing off local produce and it's free of charge. I would recommend the Hokitika sandwich company. My only hope is that the money they make goes back into the community and supports the locals.
U have 2 go at least once in yr life.
Great day out. Good food. Good beer/ cider. TOP twins were funny but the rest of the music could have been more upbeat.
My partner and I enjoyed this festival more than any other we've been to in New Zealand! If you have the chance definitely check it out!
Disappointing at difference between adverts and reality. No mutton bird, insects or a lot of other foods wanting to try esp choc dipped crickets first time will be last time flew from auckland to attend alas most of vendors are typical of markets found anywhere. 2 stars for white bait fritters and huhu grubs and biltong.
Bit of a let down. Expensive, not a great food selection, really. Good live entertainment but on the whole it wasn't worth the cost. I wouldn't go back.
Good wild food. Loved the french crepes. The NZ ARMY BAND WAS GREAT. Need more booths and variety for kids.
