20 bucks to be parked in an ugly place aside the road, + price pf the showers + price for the dishes, no ways to know how much you pay before you paid.nPure scamnYou pay 5 bucks for the card, to realise there is only 6 camps like this in new ZealandnPure scam really
Lacking with the bins as they were overflowed and smelling out the camp. Good location however.nAlso almost didnt get a spot even though we booked in advance - nothing stopping you getting stranded. Poor management
A few things to consider before booking this camp:n1. You'll need a kiwi cash fob can be obtained online or in the petrol station just in front . Price = 6NZn2. Then you'll need to create an account and sync it with the FOB you can easily do it after buying itn3. You'll need to pay for everything there 3$ 10 min shower, water and stoven4. There's not much. A few spots to park, stove, shower and toilets.nnOverall is not bad due to the price but be aware because there's not much information and it is super confusing.
People seem negative about the KiwiCash / Penny facilities, but we've had a fob for about 10months and think they're brilliant, wish there were more of them! You just buy a fob and top up your account and pay for the amenities you want e.g. 20cents for hot water to do dishes, $3 for 5 min hot water shower. Tap and pay as you go.nLots of space to park up and nice and quiet.n$20 here for the night, unpowered.nYou don't get campsites with these facilities for anywhere near the low cost so it's great!
Good for me and my roof top tent.nGood shower, toilet, washing machine and dryer. Good idea with the Penny operated system. Go online and look it up if you haven't been there.
