My mother insists I write this review on her behalf - she loved Hoki Smoki, and bought two large pieces of smoked Mullet, for an affordable price that she was happy to part with. The owners were super friendly and chill, and there were two very nice dogs as well to pat while you waited for your fish. Aroha nui Hoki Smoki!!

Very poor attitude by the owner, said he was on a covid holiday in level 2 and couldn't be bothered selling us smoked fish. He was a lazy slob. No wonder the far north is not doing well with his mindset, we came across some of this in Northland.
Steve saved me on Sunday where he helped me out with my flat tyre driving back to Auckland where everywhere else was closed or wanted to charge me $200 for that. Wish you guys all the success for the year! Thank you so much!

So glad we were recommended to go to Hoki Smoki whilst we were in Opononi. The owner was extremely kind and helpful and the meat was delicious.
Very friendly and knowledgeable. Lovely sausages too. We have for years always dropped in on our trips North.
Steve's a top bloke and really helpful. Great service and the food is beautiful.
