Story

I created Hiway Koffee because I needed to be my own boss after several redundancies,
I make a good coffee (with many years experience) and I have incorporated my Handkrafted items. I'm a spinner and weaver and I have a passion for a good cuppa and NZ fibre.

I also wanted to see the town of Mangaweka stay alive and by keeping a building open and active it helps to do that,
The DC3 Plane, ZK-APK is a historical landmark that I feel has earned the right to be looked after and open to the public.
She's been onsight for over 29 years now and we all have a little memory of her, whether its having a milkshake inside with your Grandma, or you were on the crew of one of her flights, or you just remember it being painted in cookies.

I want to help create new memories for the young ones and help the older reminesce. Either way, the plane is open for viewing :-)

I have tried to create a relaxing friendly environment that you can just enjoy while you are here.
