A record of the history of the Coroglen Tavern. From 1879 to 2012.
The tavern on the current location dates back to 1946. The first hotel was built in 1879, by Hector McKay. Back then the Waiwawa Hotel was a "very up to date place" but in 1922 that building was destroyed in a fire, and the hotel was relocated to a temporary premise at a farm home. In 1946, the hotel licence was transferred to the current site. Over the years, the hotel name changed from Waiwawa Hotel, to the Coroglen Hotel, and then the Coroglen Tavern.
