This accomodation ticks all the right boxes!! Lovingly restored old villa with lots of charme, very attentive and friendly hosts, delicious home-cooked food and all this in a peaceful and tranquil environment.nWe enjoyed every minute of our stay and hope to be able to come back!nDee and Sean, you have been wonderful hosts! All the best for you and this beautiful villa of yours!!
Dee & Sean are the most amazing host, what a beautiful restored home and gorgeous antique deco with lots of fresh air from their many indoor plants, each items in the house had a story, my favour piece in the house was the Singer Sewing Machine converted to a vanity, the villa was spotless with crisp ironed sheets, breakfast was delicious. They were both knowledgeable about the areas we visited & provided maps to get to our destination. We were sad that our holiday came to an end, we definitely recommend this holiday villa to family & friends.nThank you Dee & Sean for making sure we were all comfortable & slept well each night.nCheers from Australia
Dee and Sean are the friendly owners and hosts of the delightful KohuKohu Villa. If you are looking for an 'off the beaten track' experience, and you wish to visit an historically significant township in the North Island of NZ situated around the shores of the Hokianga, This is the place for you.nDee and Shaun have lovingly restored this Villa, keeping the period details!! but introduced enough of the mod cons to make our stay a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing break. I would also definitely recommend eating in! The meals were delicious.nThanks again Dee & Shaun :
Dee and Shawn made you feel more like family rather then guests, from insuring you're stay is comfortable to enjoyable conversations over a glass of wine.nThey were giving with their knowledge of the area and offered detailed maps, which we found very helpful.nThe only negative I can give is that our stay was too short. I highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a quaint and relaxing place with beautiful and fun hosts.
Prepare to be delighted with your choice of the Historic Kohukohu Villa. After reading the glowing Stuff article in 2022 about the Villa by Brook Sabin I stored this away as a special weekend away destination.nnWell we have just returned from a pampered stay with Dee and Sean at the Historic Kohukohu Villa and we agree with Stuff. The experience can't be faulted from the ingenuity of the Villa's interiors and attention to detail, through to the incredible meals. We opted for dinner in-house to enjoy the perfectly cooked local fare served with skill and a genuine love of hospitality.nnIn terms of the gorgeous room it was full of opulent touches and short of nothing.nnFrom start to finish Dee and Sean deliver the magic to create a restful and luxurious experience and your only job is to soak it up. If you are thinking about exploring the heart of the Hokianga then look no further.
