We paid in full for two nights’ accommodation. When we returned later in the evening, we were informed that our paid room had been re-let to other guests before our booking period had ended.nThis same situation also occurred with my sister’s booking during the same period, so this was not an isolated incident.nThe response from Pauline was dismissive, and a refund was initially refused. We were told the business had been sold and that the owners were leaving shortly so she 'didn't care', and the matter was treated as if it was no longer their concern.nThe issue was only resolved written complaint, and we ultimately accepted a refund $10 less than the amount paid simply to bring the situation to an end.nOverall, a very disappointing and stressful experience. I would strongly recommend confirming booking arrangements very carefully
Staying here while my beloved furry little man is hospitalized at the amazing clutha vets. This motor inn is just so lovely and clean. Had some tea, coffee and hot chocolate out for me as well. Having a well looked after and clean room has made things easier while I'm here for not so great reasons. Top notch will defo be staying here again
A great little place to break your trip to the lower South Island. The owners Pauline and James have grown up in Balclutha and can provide excellent local knowledge. I found the rooms clean, quiet and and perfect for what we needed on this trip.
lovely & helpful owners let me use their own bathroom when we stopped during a long drive. They also suggested some good walks and landmarks for us to visit, gave us a map, a leaflet & a nice conversation. Even though we didn’t stay over, I’m grateful for their hospitality & friendliness :nThanks!
