Story

We are a very friendly active Aero Club and have now become the home of recreational flying in Hawke’s Bay

The Hawke’s Bay & East Coast Aero Club has provided pilot training programs for 75 years and air ambulance fixed wing services to the HB community for over 40 years. We have three active divisions – the Academy (full-time pilot training), air transport (charters and air ambulance) and recreational activities (Club flying and social events). Our organisation is a well-established and professional provider of aviation services.

Becoming a member of the Hawke’s Bay and East Coast Aero Club entitles you great flying rates over a wide range of aircraft types. It also means that you join a membership of 250 members who have a common passion in flying.

You can use our flight training facilities, join in our social activities, meet new people and make new friends.

Our on-site facilities for members include a new modern two storey clubroom with a lounge bar and viewing deck to give superb views of the runway and all the activities out on the aerodrome.

We have ten training aircraft for the members use plus very competitive flying rates and a large team of very well qualified instructors.

We have monthly newsletter which can be posted or emailed out to you or you can download it from our website. We also have various monthly activities including competitions, fly-a-ways, sight seeing, open days and displays.
