Nice spot near shop and pub. Play ground for the young ones. Large area but now getting a bit pricey. There is two freedom camping spots for CSC camping for max two nights. Clean toilets in reserve and also by the war memorial.
I used to hang out here for a few days every time I crossed Lewis Pass but no more. Tripling the price to bring it into line with KiwiCamp who has now monetised the old freedom camp at Scargill Domain sees me rejuggling my travel schedules.
Nice quiet camping area with a view to the hills.nThere wasn’t a sign to the campsite we arrived at night time there is a white painting with memorial plates.nDon’t know how clean the toilets are.
Fabulous freedom camping spot. Lots trees, beautifully kept.
