Hashigo Zake

One of my favourite places in town. Saturday night there is always a cool band on so we go every couple of weeks. I used to sell kegs of beer to this joint back when I owned a craft brewery and they were great to deal with then I assure you this in itself is rare! and are awesome now I’m a customer. Beer is an awesome choice of local and NZ craft beer. 5 stars all round.

Such friendly bar staff. Absolutely love hip hop and chess. Had a great time.

One of the best venues in town, and has been for years. Super considerate and kind staff, love the active COVID considerations, and appreciate the vegan-friendliness. An “underground” gem, who deserves bountiful support and love.

Great Cult beer bar, fairly priced tasty snacks. Fantastic stuff on tap. Best place for a drink and a indie film *.

One of my favorite places for Sake and plum. The staff is very knowledgeable and kind and the food is amazing. The chicken karaage and the mini ramen are a must try. They also have a weekly special menu.

An interesting underground bar. We went for a jazz blues band and it was a very intimate affair. Nice ambience. Unfortunately I ordered sake and it tasted very watered down.

Excellent venue for very intimate gigs bar is literally underground Great variety of Craft Beer & friendly staff.

An atmospheric hang out. We blissfully wiled away our time listening to the soulful musicians, ensconced in the darkened small venue. Will be back!

They always have awesome unique beer and barley wine on tap, friendly and knowledgeable staff, great food, and it is an awesome quiet study spot during the day. I can always count on Hashigo Zake for a delicious beer, chill vibe, and alone time. Thank you Hashigo Zake!!

Their pies are made freshly in-house and each of our pies tasted fantastic. We had dumplings with good chilli dipping oil. They had mead and a great range and mix of drinks, our porters were good.
