Story

Hartley Homestead Boutique Bed and Breakfast is a grand 1900s mud brick homestead surrounded by almost an acre of lawns and mature gardens on the banks of the picturesque Clutha River.

A few minutes stroll from restaurants, cafés and bars of the historic gold mining township of Clyde and within walking distance of the Otago Central Rail Trail, Hartley Homestead is the ideal base for spending time exploring all that Central Otago has on offer.

There are two beautifully appointed bedrooms with guest lounge in the homestead and a very private super-king bed unit in the grounds.

Join your host Euan MacKenzie for a glass of local wine, or relax in the hot tub overlooking their Pinot Noir vines.
Hartley Homestead Boutique Bed and Breakfast is 15 minutes drive from Cromwell, one hour from Queenstown and Wanaka and two and half hours from Dunedin.

Lovely comfortable rooms for our group. Rooms had large comfortable beds, one had an ensuite the other had a shared bathroom. Beautiful cooked breakfast Beautiful gardens with seating on front porch and side area covered with sunsail. Would highly recommend Euan the owner is very helpful with dining suggestions and general information.

What can we say… There is absolutely nothing negativ about this B&B to say. Euan has the most beautiful backyard you can imagine, with a lots of flowers and lavender. It’s located right next to the river and about 5 walking minutes from the small town center. If you stay in Clyde we definitely recommend The Hartley Homestead B&B.

Hartley homestead is a beautiful colonial style property. The rooms are cozy and comfortable with good amenities. The property itself is quite beautiful and has the clutha River for it's backyard. Nice breakfast.. overall a great place to stay if you are in Clyde

Ambiance cosy à l'anglaise dans cette belle maison entourée d'un très beau jardin, dans la toute petite ville de Clyde où fleurissent les galeries d'art. Le confort des chambres est irréprochable peignoirs fournis pour les clients par exemple, et les hôtes de Hartley Homestead sont très agréables.
Very friendly host. Comfortable bed. Couple of suggestions, fan in room since its so hot weather.. Plus woke on last morning to whitetail spider in bed. Thought you should know. Overall enjoyed our stay.
We had a wondeful stay at the place. Everything was exquisite- starting from the brekky, through the cutest dog and finishing up on cloud-like beds. Host was helpful and hospitable. The best stay we had in the kiwi land! Prawdziwy sztos!
