Harlequin is a musical theatre group dedicated to quality local theatre productions.

Story

Harlequin Musical Theatre is a passionate, innovative group dedicated to producing quality theatrical productions. Harlequin Musical Theatre partakes in NAPTA (Northern Area Performance Theatre Awards) and is a member of Musical Theatre New Zealand. Our past shows include the NZ premier of A Christmas Carol and Rent, The Witches of Eastwick, Steaming, West Side Story and Little Shop of Horrors. At the Harlequin Musical Theatre, there are many opportunities for people to be involved – we are always looking for extra sets of hands to help out. Areas include props, front of house, set building, stage crew and production management. Harlequin Musical Theatre is also available for venue hire and we also offer props and costume hire. Intimate amateur theatre that always puts on a good show with plenty of talent.
This little theatre surprises me every visit punching well above it's weight. Performances have been amazing!
Pretty good local production. But i would suggest that a ramp upto the entrance would be helpful. With a zimmerframe it had so many steps and even going through the side enternce it was very difficult to manoever. Otherwise a nice small theatre.
Excellent production of the musical'Annie' Which played to a full house.

A comfortable local theatre. Seats are tiered nicely, and have a great view of the performing area from all positions.

I perform here every year and it so much fun. Heaps of space backstage and great changing rooms. An amazing experience.
