We had such a wonderful time! We took the beach ride. Perfect timing and weather, the horses were suited to the varying experience level. The horses are obviously well loved. The property is an absolutely beautiful oasis with good vibes. Loved how personal it felt. Would def do again and worth the money
Such a fantastic ride. Such beautiful scenery through the farm with new lambs and a farm dog, Tui’s, ducks and other happy horses. Horses are sweet and I felt super safe. Cheryl was the best guide. Loved every minute. I will be back.
We had a brilliant morning! Sam and Possum were lovely to ride and Vivian and Oliver really made us feel safe and welcome. Would definitely recommend.
Great experience with 2 kids. Oliver and his team made everything to make our experience unforgettable. Weather was also perfect, which helped a lot. beautiful spot. Would have done the beach walk if we would have more time... Not to miss in Dunedin!
Had an unforgettable experience here. I had lucus and my husband had Sam. As a beginner Sam took great care of my husband their horses are so happy here and well taken care of. They also limit the group so it was just my husband and I with one trail guide. Stunning scenery and i was allowed to record the whole trail. I also asked if i could do some cantering and trotting and while they advised they couldnt on the trail they allowed me to canter on lucus for 5 minutes in the arena after the trail. We did the hill trail for 1.5hrs. Staff are so friendly and very understanding. Thank you so much for this amazing experience. The best trail experience I have ever had to be honest. I think the trail guide was harriet
Coming from the UK, I had no idea of where I could go horse riding in NZ. Luckily for me a tourist information centre in Picton, gave me a leaflet. I promptly rang and booked with Oli, the owner. He couldn’t have been more helpful. He picked me up from the port at Dunedin. I went for a 2 hour ride. Beautiful scenery and weather, a fabulous horse and the company of Cheryl. A very relaxing time. Thank you so much. It made my holiday. Best wishes

Extremely disappointed by the service from HareHill Horse Treks. Booked a horse trek as a special surprise on my daughter 14th birthday. We were visiting Dunedin from Melbourne, Australia. Booked it months in advance to ensure we could secure a time on her actual birthday. Recieved a call from Oliver one hour before the trek was due to start saying "probably cant do it". One of the vehicles was bogged in the mud. Now I understand these things happen and so this was not what was disappointing. What was dissappointing was his complete lack of customer service. His communication to me was dreadful. He did not offer an apology or any indication that he understood that he had just ruined a young girls birthday. I would not recommend this business, particularly if you are planning a special occasion for a child or an overseas visitor and need a business you can rely on.
I did pony club as a young teen and still adore horse riding. I jump at any chance to get close to a horse, even when travelling. I rode a horse up Mount Vesuvius once! Because I used to live in Port Chalmers, I would often do lessons with Oliver Goldsmith from Hare Hill Horse Trekking. We’d take a ride on Aramoana Beach or up one of the hills of his property. Oliver has been around for a while now. My favourite horse is Mac, who is Oliver’s special horse. Mac even featured in my music video, Preservation. Nadia Reid - Art & Culture Expert
