Happy Feet is a social and sequence dancing group in Levin.
Happy Feet Dance Group was founded by the late Himi & Piki Heremaia, Val and the late Lance Prisk, and Noleen Hayward in August 1994. Originally it was held in the Ihakara Hall, but relocated to the Levin R.S.A. in 2000 and has continued to go from strength to strength in the years since. In October 2015, the club relocated to its current home at the Levin & Districts Senior Citizens Hall in Cambridge Street, Levin.
Modern and Old Time Sequence Dancing is a very popular form of social dancing. It is based on the ballroom and latin styles but everyone dances the same standardized sequences at the same time which makes for a very interesting and pleasurable activity. It is a great way to make new friends and keep mentally and physically active. The routines we dance are varied in complexity, but almost all are able to be picked up easily enough by joining in, or through our regular tuition and revision sessions.
