Loved the heated outdoor swimming pool. Great to swim laps before soaking and relaxing in the hot pools. Love the cold plunge pool too. Although it was busy, as we were there during April school holidays, the place is spacious and the queue to get in at 10am was fast and slick operation. Beautiful alpine setting. My skin felt amazing afterward.
Great experience! We did couples pamper pack - well worth it includes accommodation, massage, sauna and access to private pool. All areas clean & well maintained. Lots of life guards on duty. Front desk weren't rude, but could be a little friendlier long hours?. Lockable cubicles available $4 for 2 hrs or can choose free, unlock able. Good, clean ablutions available. Café and fun water slides. All in all, worth the visit!
Really amazing place to visit with kids. There are so many pools for different activities, e.g. lazy river, water slides, thermal bath -- all in various temperature settings ranging from 28°c to 42°c degrees. The fact that outside food is allowed makes it even more accommodating. Or if you didn't bring your own food, the café there was pretty good & reasonably priced.
The last time I was here was 1996. I am glad to see the pools and the town itself has not grown to much and isn't commercialised.nThe changing rooms were very clean and heated.I loved the tog spinner.nI can't wait to return.
I visited here last year as well, and I truly believe this is one of the best holiday destinations in New Zealand.nThis year the weather was absolutely perfect — clear blue skies, and although it was a bit windy, it only added to the experience.nI was so, so happy during my stay.nHanmer Springs is highly recommended, and I will definitely be coming back again next year!
