We stayed for 3 days and would certainly return. The location is great being near the lake and the town Center so only a 12 minute walk to lots of restaurants.nWe didn’t use the facilities but there is a large kitchen , tv room, play area and launderette. The showers were clean and sufficiently spacious. The only negative was there were no hairdryers in the shower blocks
Really disappointed and absolutely not worth it.nnWhen we saw the coded barrier on arrival, we had high hopes…turns out the barrier is where the budget ended. Once inside, it quickly became clear that maintenance is not a top priority. The place is run down and pretty dirty.nnWe tried both kitchens because optimism dies hard and in each one about half the appliances & sockets were broken. We didn’t bother reporting it as there were so many broken things they must already know. If not, that’s even more worrying. Showers weren’t that clean first night but better the next.nnEverything costs extra, including games, cutlery etc which feels a bit rich given the state of the facilities. The internet was slow and worked about as often as the kitchen appliances.nnThe staff were nice and friendly and Wanaka itself is gorgeous. Just do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere.
We were a bit surprised by the negative reviews because we would actually rate this as the best campground we've been at during our 3 week trip. The facilities* were always clean and well looked after, there was no timer for the showers and park management was very nice and responsive. The only thing that wasn't good was the Wi-Fi which was slow and unstable even though we were directly across the facilities and fairly close to the reception. But we've had worse at other sites. We would happy stay here again!nn*We were at the smaller facilities building site 63, not the main one, so we can't rate the other ones.
Spent a week camping here and had a great time. So close to the lake and anything else you may need in the township.nThe camp grounds are kept impeccably clean, tidy and weed free.nThe tent sites are generous and well maintained.nThe bathrooms are modern, very clean and spacious.nGreat kitchen enough for everyone to do their dinners at once, they also have an instant hot water reem which came in very handy.nMy only gripe was none of the toasters worked, and quite a few of the gas hobs just wouldn't ignite no matter how hard you tried. Other than that it was always clean and tidy.nBBQs are only $1 to use and work great.nWe loved our stay and didn't want to leave.nWe will certainly be back again.
The place was great. we spend x-mas there with the family during our road trip in NZ. The amenities were very clean and spacious, the check-in process was quick and efficient.nThe location was amazing.nThere was room for everyone, even though the place was fully booked, we didn't feel that it was crowded. It was super quiet at night time and we enjoyed every moment of our stay.
