This was probably the best campsite we’ve been to in three weeks all around the South Island. The ratio of guests and sanitary facilities are quite good plus it’s really clean. The kitchen is big and there is plenty of room to cook your stuff. On top of that you are really close to the lake, just 10 minutes of walking. The -1 star is more due to one missing feature: a door at the bottom of the campsite so you’ll get even faster to lake Wanaka! Just one additional remark: the sites are not always leveled, so you have to try a little bit to get your camper even - maybe the reception could in the future hand out some wheel chocks so it’s easier to level!
Great location, walking distance of town and view of the lake. For the most part, the accomodation was 'honest', it is what it is. The rooms are quite small, but that's what you'd expect. We were there on hot days, and as the afternoon sun comes in, it was very very hot and stuffy in the rooms at night. Main complaint is that there is extra charge for utensils, plates and cutlery. Never come across this before, and just seems a bit silly. Just increase the cost slightly and have a fully stocked kitchen. Laundry was good, facilities decent and never had to wait. All up, decent stay.
We had a lovely stay here, conveniently located with a very short walk to the lake and town. Great place to stop with a campervan with electrical hookups and the public dump station just outside the gate. My daughter loved the play park. We love Wanaka and if we were to move to NZ, this is where we would like to live.
Great position near Wanaka Lake and the town centre. Stayed two nights. Was very quiet considering how busy it was we even slept in. Amenities very clean and showers hot. Had a great area for kids. Very family friendly. Recommend staying here
We absolutely loved our stay here - good sized powered pitch and excellent clean facilities. Friendly & helpful staff. Best thing about it is how close it is to Wanaka town - we’re thinking about having another night here on our way back north from Milford Sound. Highly recommended
