Hammer Down is a cozy little tavern & restaurant. If you're looking to "get away" from the city this is the place for you. The menu variety is super & the food is tasty. They have homemade pizza which is really good & worth the drive just for this alone! Live music occasionally; just check website first before you go. They're near ATV trails too! Parking: Plenty of parking in their lot & covered handicap ramp.

It's excellent place for food and drinks. The owners and Staff are excellent. Drinks and food are a very good price. It won't break your pocket book. The owner and her sister are very personal and friendly and fun . I really enjoy going there alot .Food: 5/5
Best bar food around. Sooo good. Great daily deals too. 1/2# burgers are awesome, chicke is awesome, pizza is awesome. Fish fry...soooooo awesome. Go there and you will like it. Plus they serve food later than any other bar I know of.Food: 5/5
I love this place!!! I went here as a kid for cheese curds and have come back many times since then. Family friendly during reasonable times and the best friendly service you could ask for. North woods atmosphere and yet modern, clean, affordable and comfortable any time of day. Make a friend or just stop by for the best food to go! Wisconsin cheese curds, big yummy burgers cooked to perfection. I will always come back here when I’m in the area. Thank you Hammer Down for being a local place of comfort and happy times. Keep up the good work.
We go there a lot. The place is always busy with usally 2 girls working. Always great service except for tonight. A guy bartender and not sure who cooking. Other people eating there had to go up to the guy and keep asking for things and we sat for 20mins. Or more and still no service, and we know that he knew we were there because he made eye contact with us several times. No excuse for this Not sure if we will go back again.
Best burger in Marathon County. They are cooked over a flame & they are thick! Great fried mushrooms
They hosted our funeral luncheon and it was very nice. We picked an off time, so not too busy. Very good food, very nice, helpful gals to talk to. Really glad we chose them.
We've eaten here and had a couple beers several times now and depending on who makes the burgers they can be super yummy. The other day when we went it wasn't the usual girl and the burgers were all over done so we were disappointed. Usually they are so good though. I'd recommend this place. Service is friendly.
