Non powered campsite was 47$. As we were stuck for somewhere to stay we booked really late - the lady on the phone was great in getting our booking sorted and giving us the late arrival information, and let us bring our dog in as it was just for the night. The only thing I will say is we were put on the back grass the was awfully close to the surrounding properties. The grass has been cut not long before with no catcher, so there were grass clippings everywhere throughout the car. The toilets and single shower were very run down, it was like what you would expect at a swimming pool. Bugs, mould and wet floors, no towels mats or anything to clean up with, was very difficult to get dressed in. Probably wouldn’t stay again unless I had no other option.
Nice campground near the city, decent but clean facilities that could definitely use an upgrade. Sites are level, spacious, clean and tidy. There were some heavy bass from one of the nearby houses late into the night when we stayed.Service: 5/5
I had an unpowered site for 9 days and found it to be a great place to stay. The staff are extremely helpful. It's local to the University, and Countdown is in the next street. Best of all, it's a pet-friendly camp. The TV room and the kitchen are small but they are functional and spotless. The ablutions block is a little dated but very clean and the showers are heavenly. I noticed that the shower curtains were changed during my stay. There isn't a disabled shower or toilet, so may I suggest installing a bar to help those with poor balance? Powerpoints were in high demand but there is an additional power extension box under the gas cooker. Overall, I loved the place and hope to be back in the future.
The phone manner of the receptionist when I booked was lovely and made me feel happy to book our place. When we arrived we were exhausted from a long road trip and a full on day. The unit was small and cramped. The toilet and shower cramped and narrow. We were three large adults and stuck in a one room unit. The outside light didnt go, and there was no milk, coffee or tea - very lean and mean. You charged motel rates but did not deliver on the amenities.
This is one of the worst places that I have stayed in NZ. I was reluctant to post this bad review publicly but the customer service of this Holiday Park is so bad that I think it will help other people to make an informed decision before booking. We stayed there for 9 days, we had to change our booking and they charged us $100 cancelation fee. Thrown all our food from the fridge even though it had our name on it, I understand that we did not put check out date on it, but we would have appreciated if they would put a sign or let people know that they were going to throw all the food from the fridge. They did not even apologize for this. We took a pillow by mistake send it back and because they have not received it yet, they charge us $30 to our credit card without our permission. This is absolutely unacceptable treatment to customers. As a customer we feel so disrespected in so many ways. I guess they want you to learn a lesson by throwing your food, charging cancellation fees and other fees, but the only lesson that we have learnt is that we will never want to be back to this Holiday park. It has been by far the worst place that I have ever stay in NZ.
Our whānau stayed in cabins 7 & 8 and they were both clean & practical places, just as advertised. My hubby had shower envy for the shower in cabin 8 where we stayed & instructed our moko to take pix, so I guess the home bathroom reno begins. Thank you HCHP
We have stayed here previously, and it's been ok , but with more people using the amenities, there was too much congestion in the kitchen the tables cram the kitchen space , and a few things were not working either . Being placed in the camp far from the essential facilities doesn't help either . But the place is tidy and kept fairly clean .
Clean & tidy great for night stop over. Kitchen had x2 jugs only one working power double pug needs to be wiggled too work.
We stayed here for 2 nights at xmas, nice clean camp, clean showers and toilets. We were in a caravan.Service: 5/5
The campground facilities were clean, owner’s friendly and it was surprisingly quiet for the location. We will be back. :
