Gorgeous walk around the paths, follow the river, two bridges to cross. Can be done in mobility scooter. A loop track to walk through bush by the river. The Haiku path has large rocks with Haiku engraved on them, written by people from New Zealand and around the world.
It's a great place to start and finish a walk. Walking alongside the stream is great, you can shelter from the sun among the trees if you need to. For dog walkers there is the off leash area just over the suspension bridge if you head up stream. There are plenty of bins and two places to get poo bags. The Robert Harris cafe is just at the top of the hill, and on Sundays there is a market right there. And you can always read the Haiku and have a laugh, some of them are just mind boggling.
We got a little late but caught up with Dancing, parking was good, weaving talent ladies awesome, Ladies going to old style dancing is tell everyone -come an try alsorts in life. Smiles- Ice cream van was popular, food sold, different. Will go earlier next year.
Amazing Dog Park!nIt was our first time at this park today and it is amazing. Great space to walk, plenty of shelter from the trees and the swimming spots for our pup just topped it off nHaikuPark is also very clean. Lots of rubbish bins and bags available for those who forgot theirs and Haiku etched in to rocks around the park.
Nice Simple Walk in the Middle of Katikati.A lot of Haiku quotes on Rocks and a easy flat track right by the riverside.Plenty of seating to take a Break and a couple of bridges to wonder over.Heaps of Trees and Sculptures,Plants to look at.Great Place to relax
