Great place to watch cricket. I've visited both for local Canterbury games and the international test match NZ vs AUS. The openness of the ground for the one-day and 4 day Plunkett Shield matches make this an amazing spot to spend an afternoon watching cricket. When an international or paid event is on the actual entrance into the ground was speedy and while there was a queue it was constantly moving with no long wait. There was also plenty of toilet facilities provided and the food options gave a good variety that should suit most tastes. A particularly nice benefit was the FREE water stations and FREE suncream located around the ground making sure you're looking after yourself!
A perfect summer place to be. Visited during Pakistan's T20is against the Black Caps! Perfect setting. Great weather. Good arrangement. An absolute treat. Hope to get back soon for some good cricket!
A great cricket ground with an excellent atmosphere. They also allowed spectators to walk onto the outfield during the lunch break which was an amazing experience. Be sure to bring a folding chair and wear plenty of sunscreen; there wasn't much shade and no seats in the grass embankment area where most of the spectators were seated.

Amazing venue. Went to two blackcap games, stunning atmosphere.
Went to watch New Zealand play Australia. First time at Hagley Oval. We were on the embankment. Had a great view. Hagley Oval is a credit to Christchurch. We had an awesome day.
Great venue to watch local and international cricket events
Wish i hadnt booked the boundary club ticket, made to feel incredibly unwelcome regarding dress code and when entering the building which no one sent me, even though there was quite a lot of people wearing tshirts. Tbh its a lovely little ground but my day was completely ruined and left early

Such a wonderful park to visit and watch international cricket with a beer and hear the ball off the bat for six and see a one handed catch and hear a rousing applause from the public
