Gustoso Kitchen prepares some of the best take away meals in Auckland. Their salads are fresh, delicious and inventive. This is a remarkable business serving the entire North Shore and beyond. Highly recommended.
OUTSTANDING FOOD AND SERVICE. With loads of fantastic salads on offer this is my Auckland wide Favorite cafe/bakery. lots of gluten free options, and the use of free range meats in the food is fantastic. got a sweet tooth check out some of the yummy treats as well cream cheese chocolate brownie to die for We also got a take out massive salad for a home party and they are really great value.

good variety of salads and cabinet food. The malaysian salad was very average, and the dark chocolate dessert was too bitter. Portion sizes are small, but fairly priced. Went there at 12, and it looked closed with the tables crammed inside and not much room to walk.
Love this place. Great value, healthy options. Beautiful food and good range. Come here often and always buy an extra portion for lunch the next day. Yum
I have been going to Gustoso Kitchen for about a year now, and in that period of time I have seen an amazing, affordable salad restaurant go downhill. The pricing slightly increased during that time - but that was justified with the price of ingredients also going up. The main issue is speed & efficiency. There are clearly a lot of regulars, however at lunch time which I expect is their peak they cannot handle the number of customers that need to be served. I can easily spent 5 minutes waiting for a small box of salad to be handed to me. They could surely make things more efficient by communicating more with each other. It takes about 30 seconds to properly dish out pre-made salads into a box, but with any more than 3 people, it's a disaster. I have noticed recently that the quality of some of the salads seem to have reduced as well, but I wonder how much the "waiting period annoyance" plays into the eating experience?

Dependable visit 2-3 times a week - breakfast, lunch or dinner. Get in early for some superb cheese 'n bacon scones before the regulars buy them all...
The unique freshly made salads along with the wide selection of hand crafted food has a big following in birkenhead. Worth checking out.
