You know, Grindz is an old hunting ground for me. Used to go there often when working in the city. Now I go back when over that way. It never disappoints. The coffee is pretty good. The atmosphere is great, it's warm, friendly and comfortable. The upstairs is just a good place to hang out and escape for a while.
At last a decent cafe in Tauranga- the Quiche was yummy, chicken panini was good, bacon and egg croissant was average but desert treats were extra good. Even better was the friendly girl who went out of her way to help us even while trying to close the cafe. Put this place on your list of safe bets if you're visiting Tauranga

This cafe is wonderfully unique, has amazing, healthy food that feels nourishing and is visually pleasing. I wish I could find a cafe similar to it in Alberta!
