One of the best places for a decent coffee in Hamilton East, and there is a fair bit of competition! They have a decent cabinet selection for quick lunches. But my favourite thing is a longer lunch, ordering something delicious off the menu. Another place that changes up their menu seasonally which adds to the excitement for me. I love a new menu.
Quite enjoyed our visit to Grey St Kitchen, my boyfriend got the cured NZ salmon and I added some sides to poached eggs on toast, we both enjoyed our food. My coconut latte was divine! Food on the more pricey side but with high quality ingredients like these I’m sure most would be happy to pay a little more. I would recommend a visit
Very knowledgeable about coffee. Both daily blend and single origin options are wonderfully prepared. Initially came in for the coffee, but we were tempted by a few delicious items from the cabinet as well. Kid-friendliness: Changing table available and kids food options. Dietary restrictions: Some Dairy free options.

Good coffee, good food, pleasant and efficient service with a slightly minimalist, almost Scandi, perhaps, design motif. Grey St. Kitchen has been a consistently great and, therefore, popular cafe for years. It has been so consistently very good that it is easy to take it for granted. It is the kind of place that forces other places in the same market to rise to its standards, so that standard then becomes the norm. There is both a cabinet option and a menu. The coffee is consistently high quality beans are towards the slightly more bitter end of the spectrum rather than sweeter. Today I had a cinnamon scroll and the person that I was with had a custard square. Both were excellent. The coffee is always good. I do not remember ever being disappointed by anything off the menu. Go there, you will not be disappointed.
Absolutely amazing cafe! Stopped through Hamilton while on Holiday from Australia and popped in for brunch. Amazing service, great coffee and incredibly delicious food. Highly recommend the Korean Fried Chicken waffles, mind blown!

Lovely place with nice and warm service, food was fresh and delicious, reasonably generous portions.
Extremely pricey, which I wouldn’t mind IF the food quality was goodit was and portions were fair sized was not. The burger I had, had hardly any meat and found myself chewing more bun without any chicken in each mouthful. Tatar’s nice, but for that price I shouldn’t be chewing on bun.
For a long time this has been one of the best cafes in Hamilton and I’ve enjoyed coming here when I visit town. But it feels like the cafe has been sold and the food and service has gone down hill. That said, the staff were always nice when there were issues with my orders.
