A really beautiful trail that delivers diverse flora and fauna of the area and a few good views of the valley and the Red Tarn Hike. If you are stopping at the public shelter for food or the use of the shower/bathrooms, I would recommend taking the time to walk this trail it takes about 45 min.
Very peaceful walk. The trail is quit narrow with lots of steps.
A lovely shaded afternoon walk that feels like being in a forest. Moss on the ground, little signs identifying the different tree and plants, stairs amongst tangled tree roots, handrails and occasional rest benches. Obscured views of Mt Cook and the valley. More than a few steps so moderate fitness required
