Gorilla Burger

I’d heard good things about this place and was excited to try it but was very disappointed. I’ll start on a high note and say that I’m giving them 3 stars because of the nice staff and the jungle fries were pretty good. The burger however was very bland and was mostly breading, not chicken. It’s also worth noting that this is not a good place to get a gluten free bun as these buns were so thick and dry it’s hard to find a good gluten free bun anyway so this isn’t their fault. The food was just average and did not live up to the hype.

Ordered the burgers while at Fortunes, and they arrived in a doggy bag. They were the saddest looking burgers that we'd encountered while visiting Welly. Flavours and taste were a reflection of the looks, care and effort seemed to be missing ingredients. Oh dear.

Ohhhh dear. I don't usually write bad reviews but Gorilla did not live up to the hype. Saturday evening 7.35pm.Was told 20 minute wait which became 40. Offered a free drink. Burger was not even luke warm. Fries okay. Didn't finish it. An off night? Or are the uber eats and fortunes favours customers of more importance. Sorry Burger Fuel next time.

FAR FAR FAR TOO MUCH SEASONING. The chips were SO salty I couldn't eat them. And the cauliflower bites were almost as bad. I'll never ever get a gorilla again.

Liked the burger. Should’ve got the bigger one but I was half full already so took the small one. It was busy so there was a bit of wait but it was ok. Pricing was alright. The service was superb. Would recommend and come back for the bit fat burgers! And try the fries!

Woke up this Morning and decided to go out for a wander to find a burger. Was greeted by a lovely chap, think his name started with Shanus? He ran through the menu in detail and had my mouth watering by the end. 10/10 service and the food was even better.

One of the best Burgers in Wellington City, great quality of beef and chicken burgers for friends and family to enjoy. The staff members are friendly and welcome. The wait is not very long for your meal to arrive. I really recommend this place to visit and enjoy the beautiful food. Cheers

Wasn’t the greatest food. Very dry and pretty tasteless. Sucks that they don’t sell drinks because that would have helped with the dry as the desert burgers and fries. Had really high hopes for this joint but it is what it is I guess. Service was mediocre too..except for one dude, I think was in charge at the time - he was good. Wouldn’t really recommend to anyone.

Ordered the burger from the bar next door. The burgers were delicious and came in very quickly. I had the silverback and can only recommend it.

Awful food. Basically open your mouth and pour a bag of salt in. Worst burger we ever had. After being overseas for a month our tastebuds not used to the salty rubbish served here. Kiwis get a rough deal when it comes to takeaway food….especially considering the price. AVOID at all costs.
