The kind of place which took me back to the old days. Great food, large portions and superb service. Worth driving from Wellington. We had the braised aubergine dish and the sizzling pepper chicken. Left with a full tummy, and flavours dancing on my tongue. We're definitely coming back for more. Deepak & ValFood: 5/5
oh my god ahh! i LOVE this place. my chinese coworker introduced me to here one day & i tried mapo tofu for the first time ever. now i always order mapo tofu and rice for me and my nan too eat together! they are seriously so kind & understanding. ive tried mapo tofu from other places since but nothing is better than the one at Golden Time Restaurant <3 haha and then i wished that my favorite song from teresa teng would play & then it did like a minute later
Beautiful food, massive menu but authentic food. Prices higher than the average Chinese takeout but food is definitely outstanding. When dining there is a banquet option but isn't offered as standard so just ask if this suits you better. Clean and tidy restaurant and friendly staff. Highchairs available and is wheelchair accessible. unsure about the bathroom tho
Outstanding Chinese food I’ve eaten in Palmerson North. Peppered chicken is to die for Service was genuinely friendly and efficient with plenty of free parking outside. Hidden gem in Palmy well worth a visit
Easily top 3 Chinese restaurant in Palmerston North! Don’t be fool by it’s quietness, it is actually reallly good food. It is fairly underrated and highly recommend their lamp chop and pork bao buns! Would recommend having dinner here, not for dim sum. Service wasn’t bad when I visited !
Excellent spot for yum cha, the staff are very friendly. The menu is extensive and everything we tried was fantastic quality. We spent a nice lunch hour here, great atmosphere and delicious food.
We went to Golden Time a couple of years ago and were not impressed, hence haven't been back for a long time. But friends told us they had a change of ownership and chef. Have to say it definitely impressed us this evening and we definitely recommend others to go. Nice service too. If you want nice Chinese food and nice environment, Golden Time is the place
The most amazing meal and such great service. There are so many options to suit everyone. I love that the menu has big colourful pictures of each dish on the menu.
Very disappointing. Do not go here for dim sum. The pork ribs and glutinous rice had off-smelling meat. Glutinous rice was definitely not fresh. Prawn dumplings were not fresh and the filling was mushy, the wrapper was cracked like they had re-steamed overnight Har Gow. The egg tarts were cold and she left our order on another empty table while she was cleaning up before I pointed out she had left them there. So terrible, just go here for westernized fried rice and sweet and sour pork.
This place has great ambience, is clean & offers mainly Northern Chinese cuisines & Yum Cha in their menu. However, I gave it 3 stars because of my penchant for Cantonese cuisines and the supposedly Cantonese style Yum Cha dishes we ordered failed miserably. This is not the place for such.
