An open, informal yet structured group of beginners practising zen meditation & inquiry. Founded by sensei Sean Weaver and practice leader Jo Campbell
Buddha taught the Dharma, which consisted of the Eightfold Path and the Four Noble Truths:
Suffering
The cause of suffering,
The end of suffering,
And the path of morality, meditation and wisdom that leads to the end of suffering.
Zazen (sitting meditation) is at the heart of Zen. It opens the eye to wisdom and the heart to compassion. When you sit in Zazen, you return to the present moment again and again. In this way you learn to experience your life vividly, without a veil of thoughts and fantasies clouding your mind.
Zen practice prepares a ground for the grace of awakening. It is a way of transformation with many different facets:
- practising Zazen
- listening to talks
- entering into retreats
- participating in workshops
- experiencing a Teacher face-to-face in Dokusan
- studying texts
