What a great Camp Ground. Set off to main road, own private beach. Great caretakers, very friendly and presented clean kitchen and toilet/shower blocks. Certainly worth booking into this time of year March. Very relaxing stay.
Stayed here between Christmas and New Years due to low availability everywhere else. When we booked they claimed it was the last spot available. 3 young adults camping with no children and they put us right beside the playground. After going for a walk around there were PLENTY of spots clearly empty and stayed empty during our 4 night stay. Staff seem to only be friendly to families that probably visit annually. The reception didn't even look at us when we entered to check in. Barked and berrated my friend for not wearing his bracelet that they give you at check-in to identify guest from other people that might access the holiday park from the beach. Overcrowded and unpleasant. I don't understand how kiwi people find this way of camping desirable. Good if you have kids I guess. Would recommend to pay more to stay elsewhere.

Rude, miserable and unwelcoming lady at reception. She also guises as a cleaner- where she is equally unpleasant when encountered. Apart from that it’s a lovely place :
Absolutely appalling experience at this campsite. Myself and my friends who are young adults booked to stay for one night and as soon as we got to the office we were made to feel very unwelcome and were treated with disrespect and rudeness. The camp owner who met us at the office assumed that we were going to cause trouble and party when we just wanted to support their campsite and enjoy the golden bay on our holiday along with everyone else staying here. The staff were constantly threatening to kick us out before we even got to our campsite. We then got yelled at by our neighbouring campers for driving too fast when understandably we were going 15kph in a 5kph zone but still at a very controllable and safe speed with no one around us and there were several other cars going this speed, It just seemed like everyone saw us and decided that we weren’t fit for their family friendly holiday. I wouldn’t wish this feeling on anyone else which is such a shame because the campsite is such a beautiful spot. Overall do not stay here if you’re not a self righteous entitled camper and you’re looking for a friendly campsite to respectfully stay at.
Such a beautiful spot. We’re definitely coming back! Lovely staff, clean facilities and although the campsite was full, it didn’t feel ‘crowded’. A classic, kiwi camping experience. Thanks guys!
Quiet, family-oriented and in a beautiful location next to a swimmable beach. The camping sites are roomy and easy to pitch a tent on you can push the pegs into the ground rather than hammering them. Good amenities. Shade on hot days. There’s lots to do and explore nearby, but I really just wanted to swim and read and relax, and this has been perfect for that. I will definitely come back here for some more dolce far niente.
Overpriced for the standard of facilities. Had a powered site. Shower extra charge was a trickle. Nice area but we stayed in better holiday parks for a lot less money.
Nice Location, Clean Facilities, Friendly Staff, Expensive for an unpowered site at $30 for 1 person for a night. $1 for 6 minute shower.
The staff were just great and had no problem to help with any needs. It was very annoying that the sanitiser liquid in the bathrooms was done. The kitchen was fine. We were confused as the markings on the bathroom facilities were not complete, it only showed "men".Service: 1/5
