Closed seems to be changing ownership. Hope that the new owner keeps it as a working museum and doesn't turn it into another "Tourist Experience".
Place is closed untill June 2017. Their webpage had no info on this. A long drive for nothing.
Not open in the school holidays, but is apparently on some weekends - very disappointing! We did have a wander around the reserve which was interesting.
