Such a great walk. Unfortunately the old buildings site is closed due to asbestos but there is the off track walkway around it with two scary points but so beautiful otherwise! Well worth it!
One of the best walks in Christchurch. Easy and relaxing walk. Throughout the walk you are walking next to the beautiful sea. Heaps of parking and after finishing the walk, can enjoy the beautiful beach.
Starting from Taylor's Mistake car park then walking past some beach houses, this walk can be done in a loop taking 2-3 hours on a well made path. There are confusing signs saying part of the walk is closed due to issues with asbestos in some old buildings, but the signs do not tell you what the detour route is to take. I ended up walking through the restricted zone, after following 2 joggers, as the only sign saying do not enter was on an open gate when I was leaving the site. It really needs better signage put in place.
Best place to blow off some steam, walking all the way to boulder bay and back is so relaxing, so many good views out to the ocean. Caves on the way are awesome to see on the hillside and the rocky beaches, all up Godley Head is a wonderful track that everyone should try out some time.
