Glenvar Group began when Captain Charles Ross Cholomondeley-Smith settled at Glenvar, Auckland, New Zealand in 1852. Today, the company is headed by Captain Cholmondeley-Smith’s great grandson who works principally as a consultant.
Glenvar has a long history of breeding and preparing quality horses and ponies covering every aspect of equestrian endeavour.
Glenvar Group has exported horses to clients all over the world and acted as agent buyer and advisor for many international clients over the past 30 years. Kevin Cholmondeley-Smith in his capacity as an advisor selects horses for clients and facilitates educational programmes for individuals or groups around English language advancement and equestrian learning for all levels. Kevin is an International all Breeds Horse Judge.
Kevin Cholmondeley-Smith was a founder member of the World Arabian Horse Organisation and is a past Master of the Kaipara Hunt and and an Honorary Life member of the Royal Agricultural Society of New Zealand. Currently he is a President of the New Zealand Arab Horse Breeders Society.
