Although unable to go inside the building you can walk around the gardens. Which have now been given award by The Moths & Butterflies Trust NZ as a certified native butterflies habitat. There is no real way to know that this place is open to the public. No signage on the street. No way to know if it's OK to walk about or not or if you can use the couple of carparks. However after reading online that it is Council owned & open for public, although it has a resident living there, it seems it's OK to go anytime. Nice brook at the back right. Take a picnic & enjoy the solitude.
Gorgeous garden and beautifully refurbished historical house.
Large garden setting c 1880
