Story

What started as a winemaking venture in Glengarry Road, Auckland has now developed into New Zealand's largest family-owned liquor retailer, with 18 stores throughout the country. Started by Joseph Jakicevich in 1940 Glengarry was New Zealand's first retailer to hold a liquor licence, importing wine from around the world when we were all still drinking locally made 'hock'. Yip, we like to think we changed the way we all drink.

Lots of choice, prices good. It would be even better if stock level checks per store and web orders reflected actual stock at hand. Have at times ordered only to find stock is not available when it is according to website.
Very friendly and helpful staff and a great selection of NZ spirits. Perhaps it would be possible one day to have an NZ-only section to make it easier for those keen on supporting local products only.
Friendly staff. Beer chiller is a barren wasteland, low low stock. Price labels on only 1/2 the beer. Could do with a tidy up. Prices still ok though.

Disappointed they didn't have Bombay Sapphire gin - it's a pretty common brand. Their range and options of tonic water was appalling. I misplaced my credit card on this visit and after 8 phone calls and 1 email over 2 days with zero response I gave up. Pretty rubbish service.

This store has a fantastic range! Knowledgeable team and good drive through parking. Excellent champagne offers pre xmas. Good online offer, especially good for sending gifts.
