Glendowie Montessori Preschool

My Grandaughter is lucky to go to Glendowie Montessori Preschool. I love the enthusiasm when she shows me her work, sings to us in Maori and names of all the continents of the world. This love of learning is obviously nurtured by her time at preschool. As a Grandparent I have always been welcome at events and the parent community are warm and welcoming. It is great knowing she is in such great hands.

I love that the classroom environment at Glendowie Montessori Preschool is calm, orderly and beautiful. I especially value the experience and energy of our teacher Carol Potts. My favourite time is when my girls come home singing new Maori songs and share their excitement of new skills they have gained.

From the moment we walked in the door, we knew this was the best place for our two children. We were drawn to the warm, welcoming and stimulating environment. The amazing, dedicated teachers, along with the interesting materials, naturally inspire learning and spark the imagination. Children are free to choose their own work and learn and develop at their own pace. The teachers genuinely respect the children, who in turn respect the teachers and the environment. It creates a strong sense of belonging and community that made our children feel like this was their second home. They have been raised the way we intended and left preschool as independent, self motivated, confident and polite young people, ready for the next chapter of life. The skills and experiences they gained at Glendowie Montessori have undoubtedly set the best possible foundations for their future.

Glendowie Montessori Preschool is a beautiful preschool with fantastic, caring teachers who are absolutely passionate about what they do and take care to stay true to Maria Montessori’s vision. The teachers here believe in the potential in every child and assist them to learn through their own exploration.nnThe regular communication and updates on our son’s current learnings kept us completely up to date and involved in his day to day activities. An ongoing journal is a treasure to keep and look back at your child’s progress.nnAs our son has now moved on to Montessori Primary we feel strongly that we made the right decision in these early years setting the foundation for an education focused on independence, self motivation and mutual respect.nnAs a parent I found a strong community focus right from the start at GMPS and have formed many long term friends.nIt’s all good stuff! I can’t find fault!
