Absolutely amazing team who not only provide an excellent service, but actively aimed to reduce my stress and anxiety as I headed in to my first surgery. RN Aiza was especially great as she helped my recovery post-surgery, thank you!
Disclaimer: I probably shouldn’t write a review so soon after surgery while the woohoo woowoo juice is still onboard, but this’ll be my first ever hospital sleepover, I’m bored, and hey, what’s the worst that could happen. Here goes… My PIN number is... heh, just kidding I love my happy sockies, check out these super glam, wild octopus vibe feet-huggers. The leg squeezie squeezie machine is brilliant. Folding myself into a taco / burrito / pretzel with the buttons on the bed was fun let’s pretend I did it on purpose My Healthcare Assistant, my Anaesthetist and his tech, my Surgeon and the catering services lady yep, you J were amazing. As were the lovely front desk welcomer, and the happy, friendly security guard. And the entire, “OneOfTheNurses” family is magnificent. With the happy juice on board, I totally thought that was all of y’all’s last names lol. “Hi, I’m [name], OneOfTheNurses”. Actually all the employees here are superheroes. They all wear masks and I’ve seen at least one cape. - Highly recommended. Late checkout too! UPDATE: I found the ice cream fridge
was referred here in regards to chronic dizziness that I had been experiencing for 4 months at the time. I presented with very loud and disturbing tinnitus, stinging in my ears, feelings of being unbalanced and persistent dizziness. Dr Sillars was dismissive, he told me I was just anxious, that it was all just my depression and told me I needed to go to breathing works which I had already done. He also tried putting words in my mouth and TELLING me how I was experiencing my dizziness and basically refused to listen to what I was saying. He also said maybe I just needed to exercise and run around outside even after telling him I couldn't do any of that because of the dizziness? He refused to believe it had anything to do with my ears and yet I visited a vestibular clinic and they were almost certain it was, I started on therapy that targeted my ears and it aleviated a majority of my symptoms. So a big thanks for absolutely nothing. My entire life had been put on hold and he made me feel like I was at a complete dead end. I don't necessarily care that he wasn't able to diagnose me it was the way he went about treating me and belittling my experience by chalking it up to me being 'anxious and depressed'.
Amazing - the staff are absolutely wonderful. From reception, the nurses, the catering, assistants - everybody. I wish I knew all of their names as I would like to thank them all. I felt well taken care of, respected, safe and did not want for anything - especially during a time such as covid. My room was lovely. The meals were restaurant quality and in fact better than a lot of popular Auckland restaurants. Thank you so much to everybody who took care of me - frontline and behind the scenes.
I had a great experience here, felt welcomed and well-looked after. My sincere thanks to all the staff involved in my care.
The best experience I have had during a hospital stay. All of the staff were genuinely kind, caring and helpful. Special thanks to the Anaesthetist Dr. John, surgeon Dr. John Chaplin, nurse Jan, Lorraine and admission team Debbie made me feel at ease and in good hands. The reception and administrative ladies were super efficient and friendly. My fearful surgery turned into awesome moments filled by these special people.
Great experience. Kind and respectful staff. Put me at ease with assurances and a few laughs. Efficient surgery and great after care. I think I was only in post-op for around an hour or so, maybe less, and once they saw I was moving well and capable, they said I was free to go. If I needed another surgery and was told I was coming here again I would be very happy to come back.
Surgery went well everything was good, however the staff were adiment to not let my teenage kids in after driving 2 hours they could’ve at least tolled me when i let both the nurse and the receptionist know that my kids would be coming
